DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN BANGALORE

Today you are greeted on arrival at Bangalore International Airport by Casa Cottage representative and transfer you to our heritage hotel. Relax.

DAY 2 : BANGALORE CITY TOUR

Experience Bangalore on a TUK-TUK. Visit Flower market, Bull temple, Bangalore Palace, Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Relish a nice Indian Lunch. Overnight stay at Casa Cottage.

 

DAY 3 – 4  :  SRIRANGAPATNA – MYSORE

Day-3: After an early breakfast, 3 hour drive to Mysore. En-route sightseeing at Srirangapatanam, an ancient island on the bank of Cauvery River. Places of Interest:

After sightseeing, drive to Mysore. Checkin to hotel.

Post lunch, tour of Mysore palace, Jaganmohan Palace, Art gallery. After enjoying the best of this imperial city we drive back to hotel for night stay.

Day-4: Visit ancient & historical temple at Somanathapura, on the banks of Cauvery river.

In the evening visit Chamundi Hills. Night stay.

 

DAY 5 : BANDIPUR/MUDUMALAI (NATIONAL PARK)

Travel to Mudumalai – one of South India’s largest wild life reserves. Check-in to Hotel in Mudumalai. You can participate the various activities including the safari based on the availability in the resort that includes a visit to Elephant training camp. Overnight stay at resort.

 

DAY 6-7 : WAYANAD (COFFEE & TEA PLANTATIONS)

After Breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed for a 3 hour drive to Wayanad-a place where thousands of acres of unadorned rainforest come alive in timeless landscapes and vistas.

On the way, keep your eyes open for spotting some wild life like elephants, bison, dears and gaurs.

Checkin to the resort inside coffee plantation.  Enjoy walks through lush green coffee &  spice plantation with the owner of the property. Possibility to organize a full day trek.

Enjoy the home made Kerala cuisine in the resort.

 

** OPTIONAL ** DAY-8 BREAK JOURNEY TO COCHIN STOP IN GURUVAYUR.

Visit the elephant camp at Punnathur Palace in Guruvayoor. This Camp is one of its kinds in the world and is considered to be one of the largest elephant sanctuaries housing around 60 elephants.

 

DAY 8-9 : COCHIN (HERITAGE CITY)

Drive to Cochin. Checkin to hotel.

Visit Fort Cochin, Mattancherry palace, Jewish synagogue, St. Francis church and view the operation of the Chinese fishing nets. Visit Cochin cultural centre for enjoying the Kerala’s traditional dance– Kathakali, performed by professional artists.

 

DAY 10-11 : KUMARAKOM / ALLEPPEY (BACK-WATERS)

Drive to Kumarakom. Either you can ckeckin to a resort on backwaters or spend a whole day on a house boat for a relaxing 1/2 days stay.

A cruise on the Vembanad Lake, gently rocked by the waves rippling to the rhythm of the swaying coconut palms on the distant banks could be truly exhilarating. Stay in the backwater resort and enjoy your day in swimming or a massage that would do wonders on your body. Visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.

 

DAY 12-13 : PERIYAR /THEKKADI (JUNGLE & PLANTATIONS)

Periyar. You will be taken to one of the best game sanctuaries in India – Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Your journey to Thekkady is through breathtaking, winding, dense rubber, etc; do not forget your camera. A boat ride on the spending Lake Periyar is the best way to experience the sanctuary. Visit the Spice plantations like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea estates. On your way back to hotel, you can shop at the local market and pick up some fragrant spices.

DAY 14 -15 : VARKALA (BEACH)

Varkala, a calm and quiet hamlet, lies on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram district. It has several places of tourist interests like a beautiful beach, a 2000-year-old Vishnu Temple.

DAY 14 : MADURAI

Madurai is one of South India’s great temple towns, It is is synonymous with the celebrated Meenakshi Temple. Situated on the banks of river Vaigai, Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era more than 2500 years old. Madurai was an important cultural and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. It was the capital city for the great Pandya kings

DAY 15 : PUDUKKOTTAI & KARAIKUDI

Once a Princely state, the Pudukottai District, is absorbing interest to Historians, Anthropologists, Archaeologists, and lovers of Arts and Architecture. The numerous megalithic dolmens and other forms in the district indicate the antiquity of this region

 

The Pandyas, Cholas, Pallavas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagar, Nayaks, Irukkuvelirs, Mutharaiyars, Thondaiman rulers, have ruled over the region. These rulers have built several beautiful temples.

 

Chettinad, as a region is famous for the Chettinad Houses, many near Karaikudi. Just beside the Raja’s palace is the “house converted to a museum”, the Chettinad Museum. An interested tourist may also visit the factories of the famous Athangudi tiles.

 

DAY 16 : TANJOOR (TANJAVOOR)

Visit temples in Trichi & Tanjoor.

Tanjoor rose to glory during the later Chola reign between the 10th and the 14th Centuries and became a centre of learning and culture. It is the headquarters of the district of the same name. Tanjoor district, the ‘ Rice Bowl ‘ of Tamil Nadu, is also known for its exquisite handicrafts, bronzes and South Indian Musical Instruments.

Optional visit to Rural villages in Trichi & understand rural development with a stay with an NGO.

 

DAY 17-18 : PONDICHERY (FORMER FRENCH COLONY)

Give time a break from your hustle and bustle of modern life and experience the peace and beauty of serine beaches in Pondicherry (now renamed to Puducherry). People from all walks of life and from all over the world thong this cosmopolitan union territory for its high-end historical heritage. If you are looking for a divine bliss, Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville are the perfect places.

The historical French connection is still evident here after a half a century of independence. Puducherry is a visual treat for tourists with its calm spirituality, soft breezing beaches, elegant houses, temples, churches, mosques, antique furniture gallerie,  handmade paper, leather aromatics and particularly pleasant shopping experience.

DAY 19-20 : MAHABALIPURAM (WORLD HERITAGE SITE)

The coastal town of Mahabalipuram or Mammalapuram is a must-visit destination if you are in the south India. The Rockcaves and Temples are among the most famous in India partly for their age and partly for their quirky architecture. These Pallava temples were carved out of huge rocks and though the coarse sea air is taking its toll and some of the structures were left incomplete, they attract scores of visitors every year. Witness the artisans at work on the streets of Mamallapuram. Relax in your hotel with sea breeze.

 

DAY 21 : KANCHIPURAM (TEMPLE & SILK CITY)

Ancient Kanchipuram, the city of thousand temples, is one of the seven most sacred pilgrim centres for the Hindus. There now remain about 126 temples in Kanchi and a few more in its outskirts. The city was the capital of the Early Cholas as far back as the 2nd century BC and a Pallava capital between the 6th and 8th centuries.
